Flags are a potent symbols, a self assigned arrangement of colors and pattern. Which carry inside an encompassing set of terms for those who claim it. A flag is the only tangible symbol of that idea. A complex symbol which has the ability to create and in group and an out group simultaneously. At times, these can be fragile collective idea, that only exist in our minds.

This quality of flags, touches on the duality of Cesar’s practice and identity. Likewise, his identity as an immigrant in America has had many changes. Similar to the American flag, which has changed more than any flag in the world, 32 times in its history.
